Christoph Heubner is a German writer and Executive Vice-President of the International Auschwitz Committee, having first cooperated with the Committee in 1985. He was an active member of the Action Reconciliation Service for Peace in Oxford and supervised the first reconciliation group in the Stutthof concentration camp. Mr. Heubner also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for the International Youth Meeting Centre in Oswiecim/Auschwitz. For many years Mr. Heubner has accompanied groups of young Volkswagen trainees as a coach and instructor during their seminars and maintenance works at the Auschwitz memorial site. He is the author of many published works of both prose and poetry.
Jeffrey C. Isaac is James H. Rudy Professor of Political Science and Adjunct Professor in the Borns Jewish Studies Program at Indiana University in Bloomington. He is Editor-in-Chief of Perspectives on Politics: A Political Science Public Sphere - a flagship journal of the American Political Science Association; and he has written four books, edited two others, and published over seventy scholarly articles and essays.
Professor Michael Bazyler is a leading authority on the use of American and European courts to redress genocide and other historical wrongs. Bazyler is the author of the book Holocaust Justice: The Battle for Restitution in America‘s Courts; contributor of chapters to various books on genocide and the law; co-editor with Roger Alford of Holocaust Restitution: Perspectives on the Litigation and Its Legacy; and co-author of Forgotten Trials of the Holocaust.
Professor Dina Porat is head of the Kantor Center for the Study of Contemporary European Jewry at Tel Aviv University in Israel, and the chief historian of Yad Vashem. Prof. Porat is an academic and scholar who was named in the Marker Magazine list of the fifty leading Israeli scholars in 2013. In 2012 she received the Raoul Wallenberg Medal; in 2009 the National Jewish Book Award for her biography of Abba Kovner; and in 2004 she was named Tel Aviv University Faculty of Humanities Best Teacher. Prof. Porat has served as an expert with Israeli Foreign Ministry delegations to United Nations conferences and as an academic advisor to the International Task Force on Holocaust Education, Remembrance and Research (now IHRA).
David Vaughan is a broadcaster, journalist and university lecturer. He is author of “Battle for the Airwaves” (2008) on the role of the media in the run-up to WWII and of the documentary novel “Hear My Voice” (2014), shortlisted for the Czech Book Prize 2014. For eight years he was editor-in-chief of Radio Prague, the international service of Czech Radio, and previously he was the Prague correspondent of the BBC, travelling widely in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Ukraine. He has won national and international awards for his work in radio journalism.
